2 Things To Do For Your Destination Wedding

If you are going to have a destination wedding, there are a lot of things that you need to do so that your wedding will go off without a hitch. You don't want to get ready to leave for your wedding and discover that there is a problem.

Check Your Passport

If you are leaving the country, you are going to need to have a passport. If you don't have one, then you are going to need to get one. Getting a passport can take a long while, so you are going to need to make sure that you start the application process well in advance of your wedding date. Waiting for the last minute could very well mean that you don't have it in time. There is a choice of using an expedited application process, but there is no guarantee that you will get your passport in time and it will cost you much more money. If you already have a passport, make sure that it will still be good over your wedding date.

Check Marriage License Requirements

Not every state or every country has the same marriage license requirements. Your state may let you get a license on the same day as your wedding, but another state may require you to wait three days. Some states may even require you to have a blood test. Other countries may also require waiting times or more documents than you would otherwise have to provide. Make sure that you carefully check and double check the marriage license requirements. If you have to apply a certain amount of days ahead of time, make sure that your planning reflects that. Carry all pertinent documents with you in a carry-on bag. That way you know that they are safe, and if something happens to your luggage, you still have them with you. Those documents, while they will let you get a marriage license, may also be used to steal your identity, so once you get to your wedding location, you may want to keep them with you at all times, just to be extra careful.

If you want to get married at a beautiful, exotic location, you want to make sure that you have everything you need in order to make that happen. You don't want to get to your wedding location just to find out that you can't get married because you don't have the right information to get a wedding license.
